another cutie...

Met up with a sweet, sweet family last week. They really were so fun to work with!
Deanna and I went to the same church when I was growing up. I had not seen her in ages, so it was such a treat to meet her husband and their baby girl. You could just see the joy on their faces as they interacted with her. This little girl is so loved...and has quite the wardrobe! Don't you love that hat?
Thanks for letting me spend some time with y'all in the gardens. Enjoy this sneak peek and the rest will be ready soon!

six months

i had the treat of photographing my sweet little cousin again the other day. she is already 6 months old and such a joy! check out those peepers... she has some amazing eyes!
her mommy brought along some fun "props" for our session. the red rocking chair was given to her by her sister when she was 5! i love it when clients bring items to the shoot that are special to them and i love the bold punch of color!!

enjoy this sneak peek, jenny and nate!
we love y'all!

how could anyone resist those eyes...or those sweet little lips?
i couldn't!

he didn't care much for my hat...

but with hair this awesome, why cover it up?

what a treat to work with y'all again! enjoy this Sneak Peek and i'll have the rest soon!

meet a miracle.

meet a miracle.

we weren't sure this little guy was going to be here. his parents learned when they went in for their ultrasound that they were expecting their second son, but that his prognosis was quite grim. fast forward several prayerful months and he is here and surprising doctors by doing so much better than they ever thought he would. join me in praying for this family as they start this journey. he is the most precious little miracle.
every time i look at these images, i am in awe of these parents and God's grace and mercy.

and meet his beautiful mom, my old friend, Em...

and his sweet dad, Reid...

and last, but certainly not least, his proud big brother, W. whom i've been photographing since he was a newborn himself.

they are just so thankful to be able to hold him in their arms.

and i'm so thankful to know them and for the privilege of helping them preserve these precious first memories of a life that God has already blessed so much. i look forward to watching you grow, H!

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

these girls were troopers with a capital T. after driving from Georgia by way of Tuscaloosa (visiting their grandmother) they met me downtown for our shoot only to have it practically rained out!

we kept ducking in and out of alcoves and awnings and they were sweet to try to wait it out.

i wasn't able to do all i had planned creatively, but we did get some great images in our short time together before the bottom dropped out!

these girls are a photographer's dream. each of them beautiful and unique in their own special way.

these photos are a surprise for their Daddy who is overseas. MK, you are an amazing Mother and your family is in our prayers as you await your husband's safe return! i am in awe of the sacrifice you and so many others make for our freedom.

sweet, sweet baby

Nathan has always been so sweet with babies...knew we'd get some great shots with his own little girl!

a family of three

welcome to the world, LGR!

as i have said many times, i love, love newborn sessions!
this one was especially dear to me, because this cutie is my newest baby cousin.

these photographs were made when she was 7 days old.
this is one loved little girl! her parents are 2 of the most precious people and you can just see the joy radiating off their faces when they look at their daughter.

thanks for the privilege of capturing L's first week of life. enjoy this sneak peek...many more to come soon!

Noah

I recently met up with this sweet family for some photos before big changes happen!
Mom is expecting twin boys! I've been photographing Noah since he was a baby and now he's about to be a big brother. Boys run in this family...Dad has twin brothers, too.

As a mom to boys with curls, I'm a bit partial to curly heads :) Love how those ringlets frame his face.

Noah, you were an angel and a joy to follow around the gardens! You will be a great big brother!

Thanks for allowing me to photograph your family again.

i heart sloss.

fitting, don't ya think?

i love the pattern of the beams on the ceiling

love this one of G

i love sloss furnaces. it is a photog's dream location. lots of contrasting textures. so many great areas to shoot. i recently did my SEVEN! (sniff, sniff) year old's session here. i am loving how they turned out.

there is a lot of rough texture here, which is great for boys. i also love how the bright blue sky shines next to the rusty color of the pipes... this location is also great for mixing soft textures with the harsher environment of sloss...i'm thinking a ballerina...but anyway, enough with my creative meanderings. here are a few from our shoot. i love this boy. he is funny, smart as a whip and he really makes me think. i'm proud to be his mama!

I really enjoyed spending some time with you in your home and getting to know you-can't wait for you to see the rest!

I love big families!

i really enjoy the opportunity to shoot in a client's home when lighting allows. aren't they cute?

how cute is big brother no. 2 in this one? i love his expression.

proud siblings indeed!

this may be my favorite :) isn't this so true to life?

thank you Rothman family for the privilege of photographing your beautiful new family of 6!
